Children’s Bedroom wins
We all know how quickly kids move through phases. These are the things I’m glad I bought for my child’s bedroom, my son loves and I hope to get a few more years of joy from them (based on friends with older children).

The Tonie Box
Yoti vs Tonie box debate, there are obviously pros and cons to both. For me, the Tonie won. We have stuck to the first edition Tonie and love it.
Why I rated it. It reduces screen time, while allowing my son to have downtime independently. I love the range of Tonies, the Alphablocks and Julia Donaldson stories are brilliant. Also the sleep time cat is lovely. The Tonies are not cheap, but, great to add to birthday gift lists and seem to hold value on vinted for resell when the time comes.
The downsides. It’s bulky to travel with.
The verdict A lovely additional to a kids bedroom, the only device allowed!
Children’s bedroom book shelf and storage
Why I rate it: It fits large books and small, the cupboard space its incredibly useful to keep his room slightly tidy. Magnetic doors keep them shut and the two pull out draws at the bottom in the middle are fun to play with as well as tidy. I also love that its not too deep, which makes a difference in a small bedroom. It’s a great height as my son can reach everything.
The downsides: It is a flat pack and took 4 hours to build. The instructions and clear and easy to follow but there are lots of elements, hence the time to build.
The verdict: 4 You may not love putting it together
Sleep Training Clock
This is a children’s bedroom essential. My son loves cats, so this quickly made it to the shortlist! The colours are great, its a good size and when he “adjusts” the settings, its pretty straight forward to reset.
Why I rate it: Easy to set up, we don’t have the sounds, just the lights that change colour so we all know if it’s time to wake up.
The downsides: Perhaps it’s possible, but I haven’t figured out how to automatically set a later wake time for the weekends.
The verdict: 4
